Hayri İnal Mansion

Standing on Emniyet Street in Yozgat's central İstanbulluoğlu neighborhood, the Hayri İnal Mansion (also referred to as "Hayri Nal Konağı" in some sources) is a fine example of Ottoman-era civil architecture. Registered as a protected historic asset in 1979 by the Supreme Council for Immovable Antiquities, the mansion was restored in 2007 by the Yozgat Municipality with support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and today serves as a municipal guesthouse. Two storeys tall excluding the basement, the mansion combines a stone basement with timber-framed, stone-infilled (hımış) upper walls. The floor heights and wall corners on both upper storeys are marked with wooden moldings; the basement windows are framed in molded stone and fitted with iron grilles. The south facade projects along its full length, with a wooden balcony on the second floor featuring an iron-grilled railing supported on timber brackets. The main entrance, on the south facade, is a double-leaf wooden door; first-floor windows are wooden-framed, rectangular, and iron-grilled. The east facade likewise projects along its length. The roof's bay-window projections carry small pent roofs, and the whole roof is covered in traditional Turkish tile. On the north facade, two bay windows on the second floor rest on wooden brackets. The main portal is stone-framed, round-arched and wooden, decorated with rosette motifs; a separate flat-arched, stone-framed entrance with its own bay window sits on the west side. With its richly detailed facades, the mansion exemplifies Yozgat's registered historic houses that have been restored for tourism use.
