Pelitli Lake

Pelitli Lake is a natural body of water near Kösrelik village in Yozgat's Aydıncık district, enclosed on three sides by dense oak (pelit) forest, from which it takes its name. Known for its clear water and tranquil setting, it has become a popular escape from urban stress for both locals and visitors from farther afield. Landscaping and improvement works around the shoreline have added seating areas, walking paths and small social facilities, turning the lake into a proper recreation spot where people can relax comfortably. Sitting somewhat off Yozgat's main travel routes, Pelitli Lake has retained a relatively untouched, wild character — an appealing destination for anyone who wants to walk through forest scented with pine and oak, set up a picnic by the water, or simply watch the stillness of the lake. Aydıncık district is also home to one of the region's most striking geological features, Kazankaya Canyon, so many travelers combine a visit to the lake with a stop at the canyon on the same trip. The lake is reached via village roads from the Aydıncık district center, and is at its most vivid green during spring and summer.
