National Garden

Çekerek National Garden is a large-scale urban green space project in Yozgat's Çekerek district, built by TOKİ (Turkey's Housing Development Administration) across a total area of 180,000 square meters. It consists of 176,726 square meters of landscaped grounds and 3,970 square meters of social facilities, making it one of the region's most extensive national gardens. The construction contract was signed on September 30, 2020, the build was completed on October 2, 2021, and the garden officially opened in July 2022 with then-Vice President Fuat Oktay in attendance. Among the features that set this garden apart from similar projects are a comprehensive Science Center and a glass terrace overlooking the grounds; the park also includes a small body of water where visitors can take sailboat tours. Equipped with wide walking paths, seating areas, children's playgrounds and expansive lawns, the garden has drawn steady crowds from Çekerek and neighboring districts since opening, becoming a popular weekend gathering spot for families. Its proximity to the Çekerek district center makes it both part of everyday local life and an easily accessible rest and leisure stop for visiting travelers.
